Intercultural relations

Introduction

Professionals working in intercultural relations, conflict resolution and social adaptation need necessary updating of skills and training when dealing with processes of decentralization and social problems facing indigenous populations in urban, agricultural, mining and fishing immigration areas.



Intercultural conflicts: A regional initiative

This is a regional project aimed at the consolidation of democratic governance by strengthening intercultural relations and protecting the rights of indigenous people. One of the purposes of the project is to prevent and solve conflicts that affect indigenous populations in the region. The initial focus of the project is in Bolivia, Ecuador and Peru.

The Indigenous Peoples and Sustainable Development Project

This project is being executed thanks to the agreement between the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos and the University of Saskatchewan from Canada.

A call to collaborate

This is a call to collaborate in developing short-term online courses on topics related to intercultural relations aimed at professionals, promoters and leaders. This collaboration can be in the form of documents, articles, thesis projects, participation in teaching activities, and information about indigenous development projects.

Services

The Portal's newsletter is open to provide information about activities of academic training programs, advances of regional and national research projects, and activities accomplished by government agencies and non-governmental organizations in the area of intercultural relations. It is also possible to circulate requests of cooperation on behalf of institutions, networks or indigenous organizations in Latin America and Canada.
