Who we are
5. Audience and beneficiaries
The foundation courses will be destined to the individuals who produce, facilitate or monitor courses in diverse institutions, and to individuals wishing to engage in online learning. Other substantive courses - on territorial development, intercultural relations, international development or other topic - will attract different prospective professionals, according to their needs and interests. These courses will be advertised and made available to CIC's and CEBEM's regular clients, and to a wider public, through each institution's networks.
The exploratory study that preceded this project identified the following categories of potential beneficiaries:
- Latin American and Canadian professionals and technicians will benefit with a proven methodology for production of professional short-term updating courses that may be used by institutions in Canada and Latin America.(12)
- Educators in Canada and Latin America will have access to electronic materials pertaining to e-pedagogy.(13)
- Graduate students and young professionals, in Canada and Latin America, are expected to be particularly open to participating in learning through online courses, networking and collective knowledge building.(14)
- Private sector groups will have a means to express and satisfy their needs for knowledge information services.(15)
- Government agencies in Canada and Latin America, particularly foreign affairs services, will find the Portal and courses a means of being better acquainted about sources of North-South cooperation and partnerships.(16)
- NGOs, development agencies and other civil society organizations active in Latin America and Canada.
